(Main entrance bird eye view)
My 2 descriptive words are Elegance and Raw, these 2 words does indeed contradict in ways, but here I am trying to create a dynamic contrast under the meanings.
My building will be located in a desert, as I will further develop the surround later.
I hope I can create relationship between the shape and form of my building with the smooth fluid sand forms, as result creating a scene of elegance.
On the other hand, choose of materials: rusty copper, concrete and tinted glasses, are dedicated to the theme of rawness.

Entrance
After walking through the glass doors, I have put in a glazed floor which introduces visitors of Shinya (the bike guy)'s motorcycle testing ring. This effect may bring them a tease on viewing Shinya's work.
I have changed the design of the stairs that connect from ground to above. Now the stairs cases are hang by purely metal cables, and each pieces of stair varies in different size. The chaotic-like but in fact orderly organised metal cables creates a feeling of delicacy, and the different sizes of stair cases enhances the visual dynamic outlook.
As I have mentioned, the glass floor brings the relationship between below and ground floor closer, yet provide a defined intimate studio space for Shinya.
Bike Ramp
This bike ramp connects from underground to ground level, this road like stair case can be use to transport bikes upwards, but mainly is for Shinya to show off his ride by riding down this ramp and enter the testing ring in one motion.
(Above)
I have included a sky roof and wall glazing in the design, hopefully creates a pleasant habitat for Jiro (the sushi guy) and his customers. As making of sushi contains the element of natural, the natural sunlight should represents the relationship. Also the whole above platform is not enclose from the rest of the space, which is purpose to emphasise the feeling of delicacy and elegancy.
(Below)
In shinya's below studio, all of "programs" and "furnitures" contains raw material finishes, which surface of the working area (where is bike ramp is) are using the same material as the exterior.
The skewed spiral stair case connects the studio with ground level, this is mainly purpose for visitor who stands on the platforms, and feeling as he is floating above the testing ring to view the action.
Hi Jeffrey,
ReplyDeleteSTAIRS
I like your ideas for the bike ramp! Though this stair looks a bit skinny, the other pedestrian stair (the spiral one) is good.
I like the detail of the stair up to the sushi studio.
MODEL
I like the sizing of your spaces, their proportions. Texture has been applied wel
The words you have chosen are conveyed well in your model. I really like the details of the windows and the materials you have chosen.
Please add a pathway to your landscape to show access to the building.
Please load up your videos so I can have a look.
Thanks,
Good luck,
